Do not limit family visitation in NYS maximum-security Correctional Facilities.

Recently Governor Cuomo in his budget plan tucked in a plan to reduce the number of days in which visits are allowed at maximum-security state prisons.
If approved, this action will not only impact the rehabilitation of the incarcerated but will also negatively impact the relationships between the incarecerated and their family and ultimately increase the recidivism rate.
It is a well known fact that incarcerated men and women who are allowed to maintain a connection, via family visits, with family and friends during the course of their incarceration are likely to engage in self rehabilitation and even less likely to recidivate.
