Write an executive order to end the delay on autism insurance reform
In Virginia it it is legal for insurance companies to deny ABA therapy, OT and speech therapy to autistic children still despite the fact that a bi-partisan legislature passed autism insurance reform on 2/2/2011. The governor, in concert with insurance lobbyists, with no input from parents of autistic children crafted 6 amendments intended to delay implementation of this law which disallows insurance companies in Virginia from denying ABA therapy to autistic children ages 2-6. This early intervention is costly and also necessary and gives our children a fighting chance at functionality and educational accessibility if their behaviors are managed. Please sign this petition if you believe autistic children in Virginia should have their therapy covered by their insurance providers.
