The state is taxing hybrid cars in the new transportation plan for not paying their fair share because they consume less fuel. Using this logic, those of us who drive cars getting less than 22 miles per gallon should be eligible for a fuel tax refund.
Since the new transportation plan is assessing a $100 fee to hybrid or alternative fuel vehicles, because they do not pay enough in fuel taxes, we the undersigned, who drive vehicles getting less than 22 miles per gallon feel that we are paying more than our fair share. For that reason, we respectfully petition that drivers of low mileage fossil fuel vehicles recieve yearly gas tax rebates. We would like for this rebate to be called the "Fossil Fuel Drivers for Freedom and Prosperity Act."
