Traffic jam in Lagos state has continued to impact negatively on the lives and livelihood of Lagos residents and visitors alike. Traffic gridlock in Lagos state most times are extended thereby forcing commuters to spend hours of productive time in stagnant or slow moving pace.

The impact of this on the psychological, physical and financial state of Lagosians is horribly imaginable! It is also worthy to note that no part of Lagos State is immune to gridlock which often causes untold hardship to motorists and commuters, except for government officials and others possessing connection with people in authority who can easily use the sirens and pave way to their advantage. Fortunately, this ugly trend can be stopped by the governor if he chooses to do so, because the cause of these gridlock is as a result of blockades by intra state buses permitted by the Police or the LASTMA officials who often times aid and abet the commercial vehicle drivers to park on the road, in return for financiali inducement.

Therefore, this petition seeks to call on the attention of the governor of Lagos State Babajide Sanwo-olu to;

1. To immediately order for the arrest and prosecution of motorists who park on the road in order to board or alight passengers thereby causing traffic.
2. Immediately order ALL security and Transport officers in the state to stop aiding and abetting motorists who engaging in stopping on the express for boarding and alighting activities.
3. The governor should immediately buy more towing vehicles to assist the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency in evacuating accident and collapsed/abandoned vehicles on the highway, all of which causes great traffic gridlock.
