FORGOTTEN SUPPORT STAFF.

The government has given all teachers a pay rise of 3.2% as of April 2020.

This is justified as they deserve a pay rise, however the government failed to recognise the hard work all support staff do in schools to allow teachers to teach.

During these testing times of COVID-19 and the lockdown I have seen support staff being asked to come into school and teach Keyworker children and plan and prepare for the September whilst teacher were allowed to stay at home.
Support staff are the backbone of schools and without the hard work they put in teachers would struggle with everyday task such as printing work, preparing displays, support in classrooms, SEN needs and ICT.
Does the government not think that support staff have bills to pay too and with many of us on low incomes and just about hitting the living wage deserve a pay rise or is that the government doesn’t care about us.
Support staff in schools have seen their council tax, energy, utilities, insurance, travel & and shopping bills all increase yet the government doesn’t see fit to give us a pay rise.
Where is the equality.

Please sign this petition so we can get the government to change its mind and give us all a deserved increase.
Thank you
