Travelling to work exposes key workers who cannot afford working from home to higher risks than those who can work remotely. Travelling in trains, buses and tube (especially once some restrictions will be lifted) where is not possible to practice social distancing increases the risk of contagion especially if only few sporadic people wear masks. If everyone wears masks the risk of spreading the coronavirus infection is far lower as each person wearing a mask protects other people around.
During a pandemic wearing masks in public is NOT an option, recent studies and past pandemic experiences have clearly shown that masks play a critical role in refucing person to person contagion.
