According to NAS and NICE, there may be over 695000 people in the UK that have autism.  Yet the systems in place CYGNET, for example, take an approach of one size fits all. They send you to the mental health clinic they choose for you. They decide what school is right for you. The simple fact of the matter it's not right. More and more autistic people feel isolated, depressed and confused because of a lack of resources in their area. What I simply ask is there is a complete overhaul of these massively outdated systems. That for once someone who actually has one of these conditions is actually consulted when it comes to these matters. I wasted two years of my life fighting my council for something that was right for me. I don't want any more non-neurotypical people not being considered when it comes to their education.
