My Name Is Ben I am a Law Student with pets who recently suffered an unfortunate emergency with our dog due to her ingesting some chewing gum that nearly lead to her death. 

I was advised after rushing my dog to the vetinary hospital that if i would of been an hour or so longer then she would of died as a result of this. She spent 36 hours in care to help her recover and shield her liver from any lifelong damage. 

Now i understand that dogs eat, chew and sniff things they shouldnt on a daily basis but its only because i personally already knew that some chewing gum may contain an ingredient called "XYLITOL"  that is highly toxic to dogs that i checked this brands ingredient list and alerted the vets immedietly after. 

Now to the what am i wanting to achieve?

I would like for all manufacturors to agree to putting a toxic to animals symbol on food that contains significant amounts of ingredients that could cause a fatal incedent to a pet in the household if it is ingested. 

This then would atleast make the owners aware it could harm there pets and help to stop fatal incedents.
