I am the grieving aunt to a beautiful little boy who was killed by a dog who had attacked on other occasions. The police knew about two separate incidents involving the dog and the dog was handed back to the owner and nothing else was done about it. It wasn’t put on a dangerous dog list and the owner wasn’t charged regarding the attacks. The dog wasn’t even ordered to wear a mussel, because of this that dog was allowed to kill my nephew.
I switched on the news late last night to see another beautiful little boy had been attacked and killed by a dog. I’ve read this dog has shown aggression in the past and also went for a young boy in the days before killing this poor boy. Something needs to change. We need to start putting our children first not these animals. If a dog attacks or is aggressive it needs to be dealt with right away. We can not allow them to go on and kill another child. We need tougher laws on dog ownership. We need licenses to own certain types of dogs. A person Owning a banned dog or a dog dangerously out of control needs to be punished and if that dog goes on to kill that owner needs a prison sentence that’s adequate not the pathetic ones currently being given.
Dogs are animals at the end of the day and no matter how loving they may seem we have to start realising any dog can turn at any time. Some of these dogs are extremely powerful and I believe they shouldn’t be in the homes of a lot of people. I believe you should hold a license to own certain breeds and only after receiving some sort of training on how to deal with them should you be able to get a license.
Help me to save the next innocent person against dogs dangerously out of control.
