The feminist movement (also known as the women's movement, or feminism) refers to a series of Social movements and Political campaigns for reforms on women's issues created by the inequality between men and women. Some people assume that feminism is no longer necessary, yet this could not be further from the reality. For generations, women have fought for equality and against oppression, and while some fights have been partially won – such as the right to vote and equal access to education – women continue to be disproportionately affected by all sorts of violence and discrimination in all aspects of life.
