Apprenticeship is a fantastic way to get our youth into work. And lots of our youth who are non academic choose work such as bricklayer/ plumber ect. The non academic youth thrives in this environment but then has the obstacle of having to sit English and Maths to pass the NVQ . So no matter how good they lay bricks , plumb or whatever professional job they have been doing the 2 or 3 years in the apprenticeship they will not qualify there NVQ if they cannot pass English or Maths.Great Britain needs tradesmen and this is the biggest obstacle to kids who can become tradesmen . When we accepted EU workers to work here , some don’t speak hardly any English but still can do the work . So let us stop this stupid rule and give the non academic a chance to prove themselves. Not being able to write an essay does not mean you cant build, be a nursery nurse or plumb a sink in? You could be a scientific genius but cant stop a leak in a tap. GET GREAT BRITAIN back in work
