it is extremely important to introduce children to sign language and deaf/hard of hearing awareness ! i think learning bsl (british sign language) in schools should be mandatory because the deaf community struggle everyday in public places to communicate with others because of their lack of knowledge in sign language and deaf awareness. having deaf parents has made me really passionate about this subject and i feel like learning bsl would benefit so many people and introduce students to a new skill. i hope that you can take time out of your day to sign this petition to hopefully raise awareness about this ongoing issue involving the deaf community and their inability to communicate with members of the public. thank you !
