I would like to re instate the fireworks because Australia  day is apart of us all as a community. We know that past and what’s happened. You either run from the past or learn from it and right now they are running from it because it’s the easiest way out for them. We should combine as one not be divided and this will divide us all. It’s a tradition and traditions can’t be changed. Some people choose not to celebrate and that’s fine, that is their choice but the rest of us who would like to celebrate should be able to have that right. We should be able to have the right to celebrate the day everything changed, the day we all found a home. It doesn’t mean what happened in the past is right but we can always learn from it. It’s the same thing as Anzac Day, would you want to take away Anzac Day because of different races? No we wouldn’t so why take away Australia Day? Australia Day is apart of us all and apart of our life, the reason we are all here today. We need to find a way to combine white Australians with aboriginals without having to take a Australia Day. We cannot change the fact that white people came to Australia and took over Australia on that day, we may not agree with how they did it but it happened. We now need to move forward and unite as both white Australian and aboriginal to Unite and recognise how great being Australian is. We all need to combine and come as one.
