A friend of ours recently fell 30ft from a sea wall on Weston super mare sea front. Thankfully due to the rapid response from the coastguard, police and ambulance team things are looking hopeful for him. We do however, believe that this incident and similar incidents could be and could have been prevented with fall preventions being put in place. The Weston super mare sea front wall near Birnbeck pier is ridiculously low and is a hazard, with railings or an extension added to the wall it could prevent future accidents happening. Not only that, the money spent by the council sending air ambulances, coastguard helicopters, police and the ambulance team each time there is an incident would cost a lot more that it would to put preventative measures in place.
