Problem
The minimum wage that the laborers are receiving is not enough to sustain the needs of a family. The price of the goods in the market is getting higher as the time goes by. The salary that they get is not enough especially for those who have a children of 3 and above.
Solution
This problem can be solved with the the help of the government. They are the one who is in the authority to decide to raise the minimum wage of the laborers. The private sectors or company also should consider the hard works that their employees is exerting. They should give the right wage for their employees especially now that the inflation in the market is high.
Personal story
I'm a just a student. But, I'm not blind with the reality that our Filipino laborers is facing today. Those people who provides our needs (farmers, fishermen) are the ones you are not receiving the right wage despite their hard work and effort to sustain the food of their countrymen. What is hard in our country today is that, the rich are become more rich and the poor become more poorer. It is because of the unequal rights and opportunities that our laborers are receiving. Even the laborers want to fight for their rights, the government and the companies are blind and deaf on their issues. Instead of joining a rally for their rights, they will just choose to work so that they can bring something to sustain the needs of their family. We cannot say that there are some people that is poor it is because they chose to be poor. But the reality behind that is that they cannot receive an equal rights when it comes to work because of their social status. Admit it or not, some of the company today is also looking for your social status over your skills. The cost of living in this generation is high. The government is making actions to raise up the minimum wage but it should be done by the due process. The are still laborers who starve and cannot sustain the needs of their family. Even they are employed, the salary that they are receiving is not enough to sustain the everyday needs. It is not enough that you have a work in order to give a bright future for your family. You should have a stable job and salary to attend to the needs of a family. Social media in this generation is one of the most powerful tool to reach out to other people. I made this petition so that we should not be blinded with the reality that each one of our laborers is facing today. I'm just a student but I have seen and witness the reality on our workforce today. The government should not be deaf and blind and neglect this kind of issue. It is their duty and job to consider the welfare of their countrymen. Let us help them fight for their rights.
