To start of, I do know I'm just a random thirteen year old. I know it's not very often people at my age are standing up for their beliefs, or are making them clear. But I want to address mine, and that's the fact that there is so much wrong, harm, hate, and abuse in the world. We, as of now, are harming, turning our backs, and abusing our earth. Our earth is our home, and provides us our needs. It's how life thrives. Yet, we're beginning to neglect it--as we have for decades. And it needs to stop. Otherwise, what will future generations do? We were already left with a mess to clean up, and it hasn't been easy, and will not ever grow to be so.

I've written to one of my State Senators, and my Governor. My State Senator, Elena Parent, promised she'd try to do something about banning plastic bags. That's my first, main objective. And I know a State Senator actually did purpose a law that would ban plastic bags. I know people are starting to turn and see what peril we've put the earth in, but that alone isn't enough. We all must take chances, make efforts, and care for our earth as though it's a child. Because the reality is that it's our home, and won't be any longer if we don't care for it.

That's why I want to show the world that I can do something. That's why I want to help contribute towards helping our earth, and why I wish our state, Georgia, would see to banning plastic bags. That's why I hope you'll sign this. Because together--we can move forward, we can bring power, and we can do it. We just have to choose to do so--and that starts here--and now. I hope you'll join me.
