Lower internet costs for Yukon residents, businesses, organizations and governments

NorthwesTel is the monopoloy telecommunications company that provides internet and other related services to the Yukon Territory. They are currently seeking support and taxpayer subsidization for a northern fiber optic line, in part, to create redundancy for the services they provide, including internet.
What we really need is competition. We need a second, alternative provider of internet and related services, with the ability to transport digital traffic in and out of the Yukon, without using any of NorthwesTel’s infrastructure. Then, and only then, will Yukoners see benefits such as reduced rates and better service.
Are you tired of internet overage fees? Would you like to have your internet costs cut down by up to 50%? Phone line costs cut down up to 50%? Would you like a CHOICE of who you purchase these services from?
We can make this happen. The government is currently evaluating whether to support a taxpayer subsidized northern fiber optic line, or an alternative, such as a line into Alaska. Bringing alternative digital connectivity into the Yukon will foster a range of new economic growth, full of new opportunities, jobs, and choices for Yukoners.
NorthwesTel is lobbying for their interests. Let the government hear YOUR voice and what YOU want. Let’s take a stand, together, today.
