Implement Legislation for Cyber Crimes

It has recently been noted that cyber crimes are not punishable by law in Trinidad & Tobago. We, the students of Naparima Girls' High School, feel that cyberbullying and cyberstalking are not taken as seriously as they should be. The stalking laws in Trinidad & Tobago need to be updated to include harassing or threatening communication delivered online through social networks.
More than 80% of teens regularly use cell phones, making them the most popular form of technology and therefore, a common medium for cyber bullying. Statistics have shown that over 52% of young adults have been cyberbullied.
Every citizen has the right to proper cyber security and we want to reinforce these laws. As a small step to making this happen, I ask that you please sign this petition to help us.
