NHS Health care workers should be exempt from the travel quarantine rules like many other professions. There are almost 49 other professions included in travel quarantine exempt list.

Health care workers were exempt until 31st July 2020, when they were removed from the exemption list.

There has been sheer amount of stress on health care workers during Corona virus pandemic and they have made tremendous amount of sacrifices, putting their lives on risk.

The travel quarantine rules for health care workers have added hugely to this stress, as they are not able to see their loved ones abroad, even in case of family emergencies. As most of NHS healthcare workers are not able to get annual leave for more than 2 weeks, it makes impossible for them to visit families abroad with the  current quarantine rules.

In June 2019, 13.3% of NHS staff in hospital and community services in England reported a non-British nationality. Among doctors the proportion is 28.4 %.

These figures do not include British National health care workers who have family abroad.

The petition is to exempt health care workers from travel quarantine rules, allowing them to visit families abroad. This will ease off the stress from them and increase their efficiency and reduce stress levels.
