Janett Mwafulilwa started this petition to Government of the Republic Of Zambia

Xenophobia in South Africa is nothing new. Before the end of apartheid in 1994, black African immigrants experienced violent discrimination. The incidence of xenophobic attacks has continued to increase unabated.  The world, the South African government and indeed African leaders appear but to turn a mere blind eye to all these acts perpetrated by the nationals of this new born yet African 'Big Brother.'.

The continued xenophobic acts provide an opportunity for African nations and in particular the Republic of Zambia to introspect and begin to look within herself and ponder as to why we have this great dependancy on South Africa.  While it is true that we are all one under the African sky, South Africa must perhaps be given a dose of what it apparently screams for. Like a lover who continually scorns and rejects your love yet seeks to reclaim it when you move on, so must South Africa be boycotted for all we belive we reap from her. Let her 'multinationals be sent back let the paths that lead to her be closed, let every Zambian national living in that country be evacuated to safety and let they that have South African spouses and children have the option to return to Zambia, where we embrace all as brethren.  Let our local businesses and professionals step into the shoes of every departed South African business and carry on with the employment of our own! .South African enterprise has externalised revenue from Zambia and focused corporate social responsibility on a South African citizenry that despises fellow Africans who contribute to their welfare. Our own citizens receive but mere droppings for our communities if anything at all. We must use this 'xenophobic' presented opportunity to grow out of our South African perceived dependancy!

Let there be a Government led mass and national boycott of all things South African in Zambia until such a time as South Africa seeks of itself to renew genuine relational ties with Zambia!
