Deforestation is in ever decreasing circles, taking away the land historically traversed by the iconic wild animals of Sri Lanka. The more land list, exposes these animals to human conflict and makes them vulnerable as they encroach on farm land and crops in their search for sustenance. The more forest and wet land that are destroyed, the worse the impact on the flora and fauna and the environment, in this so called enlightened age, surely we know better than to let that happen.

Deforestation is irresponsible and not only destroys habitat for wildlife who suffer the most for what people do but in the end it has dire effects on the lives of people and planet as it exacerbates climate change. How is it that people and governments are often so stupid?
