magona phillip started this petition to Government of South Korea and

I am called Phillip Magona by name. I am an IT specialist. I spend most of my time on computer trying to help those who can't to learn and avoid hackers. I personally came to know about HWPL and shincheonji through media and also been following them because I am a kind of person who loves peace work. It has been of inspiration to me and my society. Its not until recent that I got to know about the persecution and discrimination Shincheonji believers have been going through this time.

Shinchionji members have been been forced to participate in things that violate their beliefs and are being denied their rights of freedom of religion and freedom of speech which contradicts the Human rights of freedom of religion in Article 18 that states that : "Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance."

Further more, the defamatory information passed on to people about HWPL, it’s leader Chairman Man Hee Lee and Shincheonji church of which he leads. In the media its said that shincheonji church led by Chairman Man Hee Lee registered many infections and it’s responsible for the spread of Corona virus in the republic of south Korea.
First of all, I want us to understand that Corona Virus has been transmitted to different territories with in the whole world by different people especially business men and international travellers. No country has ever blamed or remanded any of its citizens for causing the disease. However, it takes the responsibility of the government to undertake the care and protection of its population against any pandemic like other countries are doing than looking for where and who to blame.

Farther more, I am convinced that it’s not shincheonji members that spread the disease to other countries like Italy, Brazil and America where more deaths have been registered as compared to South Korea. Therefore it cannot take all the blame just because the many of the members were affected by the desease. For this reason I did not see the need for the government to raid the church and force the church to hand over the identification of over 220,000 members. As if not enough also sending over 100 investigators to examine the finances of the church, suing the church for over $100 million and placing charges of murder on the leader.

My Petition hereby requests that for this reason we sign should this petition to urge the South Korean President, Minister of Justice, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the United Nations to take action to protect minority religious groups and the principles of freedom of religion with respect of Human rights of freedom of religion in Article 18 that states that states that : "Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance."
