Recover the abducted ShahJehan Saalif (Poet & Socialist)

ShahJehan Saalif is known as a powerful socialist voice in Pakistani youth. On April 05, 2017 he was picked up by law enforcement agencies (abductors introduced themselves in this way) from his home in Hasan Abdal, Attock District, Punjab, Pakistan. Till now there is no information about his whereabouts.

It is noteworthy that he has been abducted by LEAs in December 2016 for one week and released with some instructions including:

  1. He should resign from his job (he was serving in POF, a civilian organization under the ministry of defence).
  2. He will never participate in any socialist activity.
  3. He will replace his socialist identity with fundamentalist muslim.
  4. He will visit mosques five times a day.
  5. He will convert her christian wife (Romanian National) in Islam imidiately.

Now once again he is abducted. He was a strong critic of state policies and it is worst thing in Pakistan that state doesnot tolerate criticism. The critics were always labelled traiter in a country. Moreover there is no space for left wing people in Pakistan. Its a common perception in a country that if someone is close to socialism he must be traitor of Islam and Pakistan. The solid representation of fundamentalists in stake holders of state is also a major factor in this regard.

In past, hundreds of people have been abducted in Pakistan who never returned. If someone was released then he didnot allow to talk media or public. Many are still missing and many were found dead after abduction.

The ShahJehan's family, friends and different poets and writers of Pakistan refuse the illegal abduction and demand his release from illegal captivity.

We hope you support and join our campaign!
