People Power started this petition to Government of Pakistan and

Junaid Hafeez, of Rajanpur Punjab, was a lecturer at Bahauddin Zakariya University and a Fulbright Scholar at Jackson State University,  with a gold medal in pre-medical studies at the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education in the Dera Ghazi Khan Division, and also alumni of King Edward Medical College.

He was an honest and hard working member of what we hope can someday be called a 'humane' society. Not only has he been in solitary confinement since 2014, he has now been sentenced to death over a politically and socially motivated accusation involving coercion and abuse of power. He has been manipulated and tortured for a crime he is alleged to have commited by members of a politically sensitive group. This is a violation of human rights, and an outright monstrosity.

Trials of this nature have been misused throughout our history as a nation. To incite hatred, and cause unnecessary pain and conflict. Let us appeal to our intelligence and rationality as a nation. There must be something left in us? Some shred of humanity?

It's almost 2020. We are starting a new era, we can write a different history. Can we somehow vie for a better, more peaceful, tolerant Pakistan? Please raise your voice.

The most humane, civilized and insaan-pasand action the President of Pakistan, and his Government must take right now is to grant him a Presidential Pardon. We appeal to Arif Alvi, and to The Human Rights Minister of Pakistan, Shireen Mazari to ensure justice in minimum time.
