According to CNBC, Pakistan is the 4th fastest-growing country for freelancers in the world. Even before the global outbreak of coronavirus, Pakistan witnessed a sharp rise in the number of freelancers working on platforms such as Upwork, Fiverr, freelancer.com, etc.

As far as the IT sector is concerned, it is one of the most promising sectors of Pakistan that contributes to the GDP at a value or around US $3.5 billion annually. Experts believe this sector will grow at a rate of 100% and reach around US $7 billion in the next 2-4 years.

Despite of these promising trends, we the Pakistanis, still can't directly avail the services or work for tech giants such as PayPal and Amazon. In this modern-day tech-savvy era, we are still deprived of the countless work opportunities these tech houses can create if they are allowed to operate in Pakistan.

If you really think Pakistan has the potential to grow in the digital arena, our local workforce should have the opportunities to directly work for these organizations and our consumers should be able to avail competitive services and products offered by Amazon and PayPal, please sign this petition.

We need to make it happen this time.
