Nima Mosafaee started this petition to Government of Ontario and

Small business owners have had an unfair disadvantage during the long province shutdown, stay at home or whatever you like to call it. Large corporations stood to benefit from the provincial shutdowns. The government of Ontario provided grants to small businesses to help them stay afloat. However if you owned more than one business, you were considered affiliated no matter what. So having two businesses would mean you can only get one grant. However two businesses operate independently, meaning they pay separate rent, hydro, gas, and every other overhead you can imagine. By having more than one small business it does not make you rich like mega corporations or multinationals, this is the only way of survival for most small business owners.  Two small businesses collect two separate HSTs for the same government that deems them the “same” company. Mr Ford can we simply keep one of the HST’s for ourself? And just transfer one to your government, going by that logic?

what the government should do is to provide these grants for each business separately. The federal government provides Wage subsidy, rent subsidy and the 60k loan based on business numbers but the provincial government who forced the lock downs is refusing to acknowledge the same.
