ON Learners started this petition to Government of Ontario - Ministry of Education

We, the learners of Ontario’s forty-five colleges and universities, request that the Minister of Education Stephen Lecce to renew the LinkedIn Learning access for students, as the current access expires on September 21, 2020.

Now more than ever, students, professors and career services personnel depend on LinkedIn Learning for on-demand, work-integrated learning. No other platform gives the skills that students so desperately need to bridge the gaps between their education and their workplaces.

In the three years of investment by the province, students:

Skill Courses Access:

• Supporting Existing Curriculum. Viewed almost 5 million videos for skills and opportunities enhancing student engagement in institutions curriculum offerings.

• Skill Gap: Gained insight on the career opportunities that are available and the skills required specific to the job, organization and job sector.

• Employment Focused Courses: Have had access to training for specific courses that employers require but are not taught in post-secondary institutions.

Professional Networking Opportunities:

• Professional Mentors: Could network with industry leaders who deliver the content for mentoring

• Integrating Experiential Learning: Had Professors continue to implement LinkedIn Learning material into traditional course material.

• Organization Integrated Learning: 78% of Fortune 100 Companies use LinkedIn Learning. Institutions such as the Province of Ontario, Kelloggs, Hewlett-Packard & Marketo have leveraged the platform for training and development.

Institution Support & Online Course Integration:

• Faculty Support: Since 2017 over 300,000 Faculty, Career Services and Student Advisors utilize and recommend the use of LinkedIn Learning to assist their students in success.

• Learners Resource Community: Had access to a community of practice in which educators, librarians, learners, instructional designers, and educational technologists came together to build a body of knowledge that inspires collective engagement with the LinkedIn Learning library.

Please continue to provide this important resource to students through ensuring continued financial support.

Help us build our futures to become the leaders of tomorrow!

Disclaimer: The following petition and support campaign is initiated by learners to support institution access to LinkedIn Learning and not by LinkedIn.
