Lockdown Mandates in Ontario affecting children

Lockdown Mandates in Ontario affecting children
We are now into the third year of a pandemic and measures taken by the government in response to the situation. We as Ontarians have sacrificed a lot along the way including our health, time with our loved ones, our businesses and our mental well being. Our children have been severely and negatively affected by school closures and the shutdown of extra curricular activities that help develop their social skills, sense of community and self-confidence. Children in competitive sports programs such as hockey, basketball, dance etc. are losing development opportunities (2 years and counting) that are invaluable to their future aspirations as athletes.
We the parents of Ontario are disappointed and extremely frustrated that the government chooses to continue with the draconian measures of lockdown and closures that are obstructive to our children's development and physical and mental health. We ask that the government immediately re-consider the closure of schools and shutdown of recreational and sport activities and prioritize the well being of children in Ontario.
Signed,
Disappointed and Exasperated Parents of Ontario
