Government of Nepal should take top priority action plan and concrete stance on ongoing sexual harassment against women in public spaces and transportation of Kathmandu valley. Rapid urbanization of Nepal and internal migration created new forms of instability in the city areas in the form of unplanned transportation system. This private based inter-city Kathmandu public transportation system have been running via irregular schedule, with minimum monitoring of concerned authorities including bus association itself. The passengers’ volume in those public vehicles strongly violates the Government of Nepal; Transportation Code of Conduct, 2011- According to Code of Conduct, passengers should be kept according to seat capacity and separate allocation for women and physically challenged should be made. But, this practice is seen very seldom and due to inefficiency of the concerned parties (Government of Nepal, Department of Transport & Management and Micro and Bus Association) are not implementing and monitoring the entire daily scenario going in public transportation of Kathmandu valley.

So, our appeal to the Government of Nepal is to act strongly on implementing and monitoring transportation Code of Conduct.
