Introduce Specific Fines to Keep Meghalaya's Tourist Sites Clean

We have seen enough. Meghalaya's pristine valleys, waterfalls and meadows are slowly being ravaged with garbage and litter, a lot of it which can be attributed to irresponsible visitors, both local and out-of-towners. Taking a leaf out of the state of Sikkim's book, stringent fines and efficient execution will deter people from being so irresponsible. We should welcome tourists, while also reminding everyone that civic sense needs to be maintained. Let us petition to the Government of Meghalaya to empower the local police and representatives with specific litter laws and fines (accompanied by intensive and visible awareness campaigns) that will help in safeguarding the natural treasures of the state.
