Ajith Abraham Thomas started this petition to Chief minister of kerala and

Alapad is a narrow narrow strip of land between the TS Canal and the Arabian sea in coastal area of Kollam. As per the Lotho map of 1955 by the Government of Kerala, the village had an area of 89.5 square kilometers. According to the recent updates, the Black sand mining of the Indian Rare Earth Ltd. company has reduced the area into just 7.9 square kilometers. This company which is already violating the CRZ norms continues mining, and the government has been blind to the hunger strike and protests done by the people of the village. 3 Months ago, when Kerala was affected by the worst Flood it has ever seen, the fishermens risked their own lives to save other people with their boats. Now they are having a worse time because sea is advancing onto the land because of sand mining. Its time for us to help them and to make the government see how worse the situation is. Please show your support by signing this petition and help us to MAKE A CHANGE!. #Save_Alapad #Stop_mining
