Problem
Pollution due to vehicles is very common in the state of Kerala. Kerala has always had a reputation in having an atmosphere full of pollutants from the vehicles on the road. Significant measures were taken by the Government to reduce this. It includes the Pollution tests for vehicles. These tests are done periodically. The test measure the vehicles' 'polluting ability' and gives a result of whether the vehicle causes too much pollution to the environment or not. The Kerala Police conducts frequent checks on commuters to make sure their vehicles have all passed the latest pollution tests. This has proved to be extremely useful. But, despite the fact that every vehicle on the road is supposed to follow this rule, the vehicles owned by the government easily get past this rule. The government owned transport buses are the perfect example. Every single time the driver of the bus places his foot on the accelerator, a huge, thick cloud of smoke rushes out from the exhaust pipe of the bus. The smoke clouds can be so thick and dark that it's almost like a black sheet that covers our sight for a moment and chokes us with its poisonous components. Videos and pictures about this has been appearing in many social media platforms lately. All this is completely ignored by the police and the government. Only the common people are fined and caught for not renewing their smoke tests. Private buses are always caught for not doing their smoke tests in time. All the while, apparently, the government buses go around the whole city, injecting huge masses of soot into the atmosphere at every bus stop. One government bus creates the same amount of pollution that 20 cars who have passed the pollution test make.

Solution
The government should realize the mistake and we are the ones who should make them realize. The law should be enforced on Government vehicles also. Government vehicles who don't follow the rule should undergo the same punishment that the common people receive. This way, there will more of an equality established and at the same time, there will be a significant control in the pollution level in the state. I myself having written letters and articles regarding the same was able to create negligible effect. People who are like-minded, when joined together, can surely make an impact and that's the reason behind this petition.
