Today 77 years ago, The Honorable Robert Nesta Marley OM, “Bob” was born in Nine Mile, St Ann, Jamaica. Bob Marleyplaced Jamaica firmly on the map with his music and world renowned lyrics of social justice. From “The Wailing Wailers” to “Confrontation”, his songs are the continuing source of joy from generation to generation, world-wide. In 2021, “Legend: The Best of Bob Marley and The Wailers” (originally released in 1984) ranked at the top of Billboard’s 25 Best-Selling Reggae Albums of 2021. Having sold more than 75 million records Bob Marley is one of the best selling artists of all time. Bob Marley is the pride of Jamaica, undisputed King of Reggae and a true musical legend. The Government of Jamaica is hereby petitioned to award the Order of National Hero to Robert “Bob” Nesta Marley OM, in this the 41st year of his death, for his services of the most distinguished nature to Jamaica and the world.
