Why this petition matters

Started by Karna Bhati

The Teen Murti Bhavan also known as The Nehru Memorial, present right in the middle of our Nation's Capital, in Lutyens' Delhi since 1930 CE, is currently under attack by the Central Government and is becoming a victim of vindictive politics by the current ruling dispensation.

It is being teared apart strategically out of hatred towards one man's ideology and his humongous persona, who also happens to be our First Prime Minister and one of the crucial Founding Fathers of our beloved nation, at that time a Newborn Independent Democratic India, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, the man who led India's Freedom Struggle alongside Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Maulana Azad, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and many more.

This is the place where many formal and informal meetings of the above listed and unlisted leaders or our founding fathers, belonging to the historic Indian National Congress and others, which spearheaded our Freedom Struggle against the British Rule, brought India out from the Rule of uncountable Monarchs and made it a Democratic Land for the very first time in its five thousand year old history and it doesn't ends there, the Indian National Congress made it a successful democracy, played a significant and crucial role from the times of gaining independence in the middle of the Twentieth Century and till the recent days when the country entered into the Twenty First, it always kept its status intact as a Sovereign Socialist Secular Democratic Republic State, unlike the others who were born out together and lost their precious gift into the hands of power hungry Dictators. Currently out of power it(the Indian National Congress) is still fighting for values laid down by the most beautiful document, which is widely worshiped, the longest written constitution of the world, its none other than the great Indian Constitution. It has, it is and it will always keep it's fight on for the protection of rights, till it reaches the last person standing in a queue.

Anyways, just got carried away, coming back to the matter of concern which needs immediate public attention, is that the said Place is a witness to immense India's Heritage both before and after independence, numerous national events, diplomatic dialogues, prestigious ritualistic ceremonies. India's journey on its own has been archived in whereas such places, it being one of the most prominent one.

The last time I was there, the magnificent backyard lawn was torn apart and the ground floor of the building was not accessible to the public. His sayings and famous text which found its place in current Prime Minister's 2014 Election Campaign also went missing from the wall of first floor as well, where he says "It would be better if people treat me as their Pratham Sewak and not as Prime Minister".

Please help me, yourself and our young ones by stopping this ongoing destruction. Think of our younger generations, will they ever be so fortunate as we were able to witness this place in our childhood days when we use to visit it on our school trips, our national heritage is being erased just because it doesn't suits some people currently occupying places of power.

This is certainly not the New India for which you all voted for. As Dr. Shashi Tharoor rightly said and I quote, "If you don't know where you have come from, you will never appreciate where you are going".

I hope this reaches our honorable Prime Minister and his Government and I believe after reading this, he will certainly not want his name to be remembered with some insolent invaders and rulers like Bakhtiyar Khilji, a Turkish leader who destroyed our Great Heritage, the Nalanda University or like Qutb-ud-din Aibak, who destroyed various places of worship and particularly a thousand year old temple, known as the Teli ka Mandir, situated in present day Gwalior, built during the times of Gurjara Pratihara Dynasty Ruler Samrata Mihira Bhoja the first, in the Eighth Century CE.

Jai Bharat | Long Live India and it's Heritage.
