Why this petition matters

Started by Jasmitha Kantheti

The Yamuna River is well known amongst Hindus. It is one of the country's most sacred rivers.

Not only the United Nations, but the Indian Government has itself declared the Yamuna River dead. The Yamuna is one of the most polluted rivers in the country. Just five percent of the sewage that is discharged into the river is treated, posing a severe health hazard. We demand a healthier river, and only the support of everyone will do so.

I request the government to treat the Industrial and Domestic waste and not pour untreated wastewater into the Yamuna River. I request the Government to put more dustbins close by as people will avoid throwing the trash in the water and also fine the people an immense amount who are polluting the river. As an individual, you can stop polluting the river as each person can make a difference.

We need to solve the problem faster and your signature is essential to improve the conditions of the river. It will encourage the Indian Government to create stricter rules for saving the river Yamuna. Your signature will save the Yamuna river.
