We have often been hearing news about our policemen getting killed in encounters by terrorists and gangsters. The recent killing of 8 policemen including a DSP by a gangster named Vikas Dubey in Kanpur on 3rd July, 2020 shook the nation.

The government announces huge sums of money as ex-gratia to the family of the deceased later on. But can that money bring back the departed? Can it fill the loss being suffered by their family members? Shouldn't the government purchase the bullet proof jackets in bulk and provide them at every police station in India rather than giving the money later to the family after they have lost their family member. The policemen should be wearing protective head gear and a bullet proof jacket whenever they go for such missions. Had the 8 policemen been wearing bullet proof jackets on 3rd July, 2020, they could have very well been alive today. It pains me and I am sure it does the same to all Indians to lose our brave police officers in encounters with anti-National terrorists and petty criminals. 

Sign my petition to show solidarity with our police force. Let us build public pressure on the government and the concerned authorities so that the bullet proof jackets are provided to our police force at the earliest. Let's save our police force.
