No tax on sanitary napkins

Sex is a choice, periods aren't.
If there is no tax on voluntary things like condoms, why is there a tax on inevitable things like periods.
A 12% tax is currently imposed on sanitary napkins all over India. From young girls to grown women struggle to get adequate hygiene care without heavy taxes imposed. But now, due to the GST tax, women find themselves stuck in a position where they cannot help themselves and are forced to 'free bleed'. Basic hygiene is something we need to fight for. We know that without taxes, the country cannot function, however if girls cannot afford basic necessities such as food and clothes, how can they afford sanitary napkins worth hundreds of rupees.
My period gives me stomach aches, why are you giving me a headache.
Why you taxing my period?
