Harmeet Singh started this petition to Government of India, ministry of labour

Many employers in India are exploited by using sandwich leave policy.

The Sandwich policy is a general practice followed by companies and the organizations where a usual week off gets clubbed with the paid leave applied by the employee just near the week off and is treated as a leave day.

For instance, If someone takes a leave from 23rd Jun, i.e., Friday to 26 Jun i.e., Monday, and 24th and 25th being company holiday (weekend) – then his leave would be counted for 4 days instead of 2 days under the sandwich rule.

This is a great tool for labour exploitation and British government never did anything in their rule in west India. Still India is using the law and even after over 70 years of freedom we are still slaves of this policy where for 2 day loss of employer productivity, employees lose 4 days of hard earned wages.

I am writing this petition to get a law which curbs this practice of exploitation.
