An appeal for Fare Probe and Speedy Trial in brutal murder of Muntazim, a 7th standard student!!
Muntazim, 15 years old was your average teenager, you see in your neighborhood every day - going to school, riding a bike or fetching groceries for mom. He was bright, want to pursue higher studies and make a name for himself and his town Kakrala. Kakrala, a town of some 50,000 in Budaun district of Uttar Pradesh, India (PIN CODE- 243637) is famous for its Guavas is now famous for Brutal Murder of Muntazim.
On 7th August, 2018, farmers found remains of a dead body in nearby fields. An skull, a few bones, a severed arm and a leg, and a decaying body, few parts are still missing.
Family of Muntazim, identified body as his from the clothes he was wearing, Muntazim was missing from past 6 days (which were reported to police, but they did nothing to find him). A scuffle was reported with some neighborhood people over an allegation of taking petrol from a parked bike.

Family lodge a FIR but get a surprise when police did nothing against the culprits, whenever people ask police about the progress in case, they were thrown out of police station and the inspector said to family that you don't have any constitutional right to ask such things. There were rumors that police have been bribed with hefty amount.

It was only after campaign on social media, letters to District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police and a sit in at SSP office by Family members with sympathizers, a couple of accused arrested and taken to the jail without police remand.

The appeal to transfer the case to another police station for fairer probe is not accepted yet, we don’t think that we will get justice if the investigation will be done by the same team which was bribed by the accused's
We appeal to all the concerned people/authorities to please look into this brutal murder and help us get a fare probe and timely justice.
