Anurag Paul started this petition to Government of India, Government of Madhya Pradesh, Central Board of Secondary Education

Fees in Christian Missionary Schools are Increasing Magnanimously with No Control by the Govt. Or the Educational Boards. They could do so because they are Minority Institutions.

My Daughter took admission in Christ Church Girls' Senior Secondary School, Jabalpur (M.P.) in 2013 in KG 1. At that time the fees was 900/- per month.

In KG 2, the fees was increased to 1400/- per month.

In Class 1, the fees was again hiked to 1900/- per month.

In Class 2, the fees was 2450/- per month.

In Class 3, again it is hiked to 2950/- per month.

In Class 4, the fees was 3550/- per month.

Now, in Class 5, the fees was again increased to 3750/- per month.

So, in a span of 6 years, they have increased the fees from 900/- to 3750/- which is more than 400%. Further, they charge One Time Annual Management Fees of Rs 1200/- every year, plus Dance fees, Computer fees, etc. are the regular demands of the schools, which we parents had to fulfill because we need to teach our wards in English Medium Schools.

They say that they are Minority Institutions which is Run & Administered by Church of North India. Every year the Intake is 150 students & they have 14 Classes (KG 1, KG 2, Class 1 to 12).

Average Fees per student is 3900/-. So, the Monthly Collection is (150×14×3900) =Rs. 81,90,000/-. I do not know the definition of Minority Institution where the Monthly Collection of Fees is 82 Lakhs, i.e. Rs. 9.82 Crores Annually. Which is too high for a Tier 3 city like Jabalpur.

But, the way they are increasing the fees every year, now it becomes very difficult for us to continue our child's education in these type of Missionary Schools, because now there is no difference between a Private School and a Convent School in terms of fees.

So, i request Change.org to initiate a petition to the Govt. Of India, Sate Govterments, Educational Boards to please put restrictions on these Schools for hiking fees and help us poor parents to continue our child's education in the English Medium Missionary Schools.
