In past few days, there has been an increase in number of rapes in India. It is sad to know such heinous crimes aren't being punished. Rather, the victim and her family is being blamed by narrow minded society. It is of utmost importance to let people know, it isn't about the woman who chooses her freedom to live in this country, its about the men who do not know the boundaries and think it is their right to dominate over woman. It is difficult to cultivate and preserve rights of woman in a country where patriarchy is one of the leading issue to fight against. But we as community can unite and fight for the justice. This petition is to bring to notice on to legislate strict laws and severe punishments to put fear in such men who even think to do such indecent acts. Woman are meant to have equal rights as with men in all aspects and under no circumstances they should be susceptible to horrific acts of inhuman men. If any woman who encounters such incident, she shouldn't lose faith but rather fight for justice and make herself more stronger. Blaming the victim and her family shows nothing but male dominated societal norms. Woman exposed to these crimes should stand up for rights and fight for justice. As a woman, I dont think sharing and forming an individual opinion is just enough to bring a change. We as a whole community should put in effort to stop rapes in our country and empower women to let her know she has a voice that can be raised and heard! Let's do this so that every father can live with peace knowing his daughter is safe in any part of country.
