Rohingya refugees are the most persecuted people on the earth as per tge UN amd other international human rights organisations. There are Rohingya refugees in India who escaped the persecution under Myanmar army and radical Buddhist organisations. The government of India till recently hed been moving towards the peaceful settlement of the issue. Recently the rohingyas are being called illegal immigrants and are facing the threat by the Indian government to be deported. The argument revolves around their number.
In reality their number was reported to the parliament, PMO, MEA, and Home Ministry time and again by MPs like Dr.Sampath of CPI(M), Dr.Shahi Tharoor (INC), E.T Muhammad Basheer (IUML) etc. Many of rohingyas have long visas given by the government of India as well as UNHCR identity cards. They are refugees fleeing persecution with id cards not illegal immigrants. Everyone is aware about the ongoing genocide in Myanmar. Sending them back will be equal to Killing them.
Untill a peaceful solution is not made, India a country with such an exemplary humanitarian record especially towards refugees must not send them back. India as a leader in south east asia must do all in its capacity to solve the crisis happening in its neighborhood.
