Grant Conservation Status to the Lamma Forest

This petition had 2 supporters

To combat the extreme deforestation of Lamma Island ABLE Charity reforested the Northern part of Lamma Island. Since 1997, ABLE Charity has planted trees annually where they successfully created a self-seeding forest. The forest is home to native flora and fauna both rare and common. Since its creation, the forest has also managed to entice many endangered species that have disappeared from the island back again such as the wild boars.

This forest still does not have full fledged conservation status and so is susceptible to folly of blind development. As an important addition of biodiversity to Lamma Island, Hong Kong and the world at large we are seeking to protect this young forest for the future.
