Lee Harold to be given an honour in Queens Birthday list
Why this petition matters
Gibraltar is a relatively small place with just over 33,000 population. Just like anywhere in the world there is an element of homelessness. In normal times, there are a few places where the homeless can eat, have a shower, socialise etc but due to the lockdown, these places have been closed.
Local business owner, Mr Lee Harold, stepped in and has been providing food for those who would otherwise be going without and ultimately this could lead to serious health issues. Calling in favours from other like minded people, the food has been delivered and the homeless have not gone without.
In my opinion, Mr Harold has gone way beyond compassion and has probably saved a lot of people through his selfless actions. His daily updates on social media have been like a rallying call for more supplies but it’s also good to see how he has been getting on.
Without any doubt, Mr Harold has put himself in the same bracket as the frontline emergency services and healthcare that are, in their own way, saving lives: Mr Harold is doing it HIS way.
Its times like this where the good step up and Mr Harold has in leaps and bounds: if it was up to me, I would give him an MBE at the very least.
