Tidal waves have attacked many communities living along the beaches of Ghana's Volta Region due to rising sea levels and Climate Change. The situation is bad and the government is yet to respond with relocation plans, land reclamation and a sea defence project. Although many activists have tried to bring the government's attention to the problem before it became as bad as we are currently witnessing, the government failed to do something concretely proactive. Businesses, homes and schools in the Ketu, Keta and Anlo Municipalities are flooded. Many children are unable to go to school and their parents' livelihoods are lost.

This petition is being organized by concerned natives of Anlo, their allies and sympathizers to demand that government responds to the tidal wave flood situation in Havedzi, Kedzikofe and Agorkedzi by immediately commencing the second phase of the sea defence project. The Sea Defence Project would include the following:

Relocation of the People

Land Reclamation

Sea Defense (Rock Deposition)

Road (Re)Construction

The project should be done from Aflao to Anyanui and its environs to avoid isolated areas and particular communities from being affected now and in the future.
