Start giving equal weightage to Punjabi in New Delhi

Delhi Government has not been valuing Punjabi language enough. Even thought the Government claims to do a lot for Punjabi and talks about creating a Punjabi chair in JNU, a very basic thing is missing. That is the fact that the boards in New Delhi have mispelled Punjabi in a number of cases.
Here are some images which shows the plight of Punjabi in New Delhi:
- Mispelled Board on Alexander Dubcek Marg in New Delhi
- Mispelled Board on Janpath Marg in New Delhi
- Mispelled Board on Rajendra Prasad Marg in New Delhi
Besides this, Delhi is isolating itself from Punjabi despite the huge Punjabi population in the city. For instance, Delhi Metro only uses Hindi and English while Singapore has 4 official languages and they give equal weightage to all four of them, in their local transportation as well. Even BBC is starting BBC Punjabi now and are hiring Punjabi jouranlists in New Delhi. Punjabi Wikipedia is one of the highest growing Wikipedias in India.
It is high time that Delhi Government starts appreciating the importance of multilingualism and actually start promoting Punjabi as it is projecting. We would like to see Punjabi and Urdu given equal weightage in the public sphere. Starting with correcting these boards, we would really want Punjabi to be used in Delhi Metro as well. All languages should be treated equally and let us try to break the hierarchy.
