Since the beginning of the lockdowns in March 2020 we have seen profits for large international corporations like Amazon, Walmart and Costco skyrocket, while small businesses have been forced to close.

Even with the government doing what it can through loans and subsidies, the truth is that it will likely be the taxpayers footing the bill for these costs, while the corporations keep their profits.

We want to call on the Canadian government to garnish the profits from any company that was allowed to operate during the lockdown and use this money to subsidize the small and medium sized business owners that have lost everything.

If the government has the right to force private companies to close, they can clearly also force private companies to hand over any profits earned during a pandemic to ensure that competition and free markets survive.

Please help us help independent business owners across the country hold on to their dreams and not get crushed by billionaires who have only seen their fortunes increase during these terrible times.
