GST is costing Canadians too much on everything without providing any benefits. Income tax is already collected at the source from salaried employees and GST is charged on everything a person spends money after income tax deductions for oneself. This means tax on tax paid income, ridiculing naive Canadians on their hard earned dollars! Governments whether federal or provincial, never publish the reports that provide information on how the GST or PST is utilized for the benefits of the citizens.
 
Before the implementation of the GST some 28 years ago, Canada was still a developed country in the world and prospering without that. As per news reports, initially GST was implemented in 1991 for 2 years but none of the subsequent governments after its imposition, tried to keep the promise and it is still into the effect. If GST is indispensable, then abolish the income tax! People are fed-up of paying levies/fees being collected e.g. property tax, local municipal taxes, health insurance premiums, 911 emergency calls charges, environment levies, recycling charges, carbon tax, tolls, paper billing charges, and so on and the list continues. It is time now for Canadians to stand up for their rights and demand transparent accountability on the GST and PST spending and abolish them forthwith. News reports indicate that Canadians pay more than 55% of their income in taxes in the form of direct and indirect taxation. Inflation and cost of living is increasing and it is tragic that people are requesting extension on their due retirement and prolong their jobs because they are not able to meet both their ends and their CPP's and other savings of their entire services are not adequate for a retired life.
 
If people do not create awareness and blow whistle on their tax dollars for transparent accountability that are making the governments rich and wealthy whether federal or provincial, they had better not expect a secured future for their jobs and businesses. One must take a stand to survive with prosperity and dignity, or else be happy working day in and day out, paying enormous taxes on hard earned dollars for the lifetime, choice is yours!
 
What is happening in several countries of The European Union is imminent to the Canadians too in the near future, so go ahead and sign this petition to raise voice on the taxation system of this country and demand for immediate abolishment of GST.
