A recent petition to stop exploratory drilling to support the development of Taseko Mines New Prosperity project has gained 10,000 signatures already. This petition is meant to show the provincial and federal governments the overwhelming support residents of B.C have for this project. 

The development of this mine could provide high paying jobs for the people of the Cariboo and, help forestry workers affected by the recent downturn of the forest sector with new employment.
