I have made this petition to bring awareness to to an issue that I see effecting every Canadian. Our members of Parliament are paid way too much. They have an automated raise system in place and are getting paid more and more every year even if we all suffer. Currently their annual salary is $182,600.00 CAD. Once their next automatic raise goes through in April they will be making $185,200.00 CAD. Do you think this is fair? I don't. I need you to SIGN and SHARE this petition to bring some equality to Canada.

Every April the MP's all receive a raise. This used to be a subject that was voted upon annually, but to avoid the controversy that it brought up every year the decided to automate it. Now since the beginning of this pandemic, you would think that the Canadian Government would be looking at ways to save Canadian tax dollars, and be looking at how to put more of those Canadian tax dollars back into the Canadian hands that need it? No, they have kept their raises going despite all this. While we all learn to survive off a little bit less, do you think they should learn to survive off a little bit less as well? Just fyi here's the link to all posted salaries and allowances of our politicians (not including the other perks and tax write offs they get). Free parking downtown that'd cost $600/month for a regular citizen. Car allowances, travel allowances, meal allowances, zoo passes, transit passes, theater passes, to mention a few.

One MP just tried to pass a motion that would drop their monthly income to the same level of those collecting CERB and do you know what their reaction was to that? The speaker (PC Government House Leader Paul Calandra) made a motion to single out that MP and drop only his salary to that level.. so bullying is allowed in the house of commons but not in schools? Please sign and share this petition and let's remind these civil servants of who and what they should be serving.

Thanks for your time,

Jordan Harbridge
